The AIWG calls on new Home Secretary to protect and safeguard British Muslims

Language matters, especially when it comes from our elected officials. 


The Anti-Islamophobia Working Group is deeply concerned over the recent far-right activity. On Armistice Day, 2000 far right activists descended on London during the pro-Palestine protests (Hope Not Hate). 


Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman branded pro-Palestine demonstrations as "hate marches” inciting division and emboldening far-right sentiments. 


This coupled with the surge in Islamophobia is gravely concerning and warrants urgent action. That’s why we’ve written to the newly appointed Home Secretary, requesting an update.
